As Huancavelica is one of the poorest regions of Peru, the existing medical center has limited resources, often requiring patients to travel nearly four hours away to the nearest hospital. Since 2017, we have helped the medical center expand with the addition of an operating room, providing a sterile space in which future medical missions can offer free care. Humanitarian Objectives To bring help and donations to different entities in need such as the volunteer firefighters, nurseries, elementary and secondary schools. To offer a scholarship for financially disadvantaged children, giving them the opportunity to graduate from school. Educational Objectives To organize educational workshops for the school children and adults. We are planning to do nutritional workshops in association with the secondary school. Rio Momón was declared an area of extreme poverty, meaning that people have so little income that if every cent were spent on food, there would still not be sufficient food to provide adequate nutrition.
